Ruby thought the Tooth Fairy came, took one look at her tooth, and didn't want it.
Why didn't she want it? Maybe it had blood on it, that's why she didn't want it?
No, she just forgot. Just plain forgot. Ruby walked into school this morning with her shoulders low and her head hanging down. She was so sad. I emailed Jake at work and we discussed disappointments this morning. How painful it is to see our kids experiencing a big one. And being fully responsible.
Ugh.
She'll be here tonight. She'll draw hearts on the dollar, just like she always does. She'll maybe even write an apology.
Because Ruby's heart is just too tender.
On a lighter note, we're having a Medley reunion this weekend. Including, but not limited to my parents, 8 out of 9 siblings, their spouses (6 are married). My grandparents will stop by on Saturday along with my cousin's family and my aunt, uncle and their 6 kids.
Oh ya, and we invited a special guest: Chaos.
Did I mention my house is 1200 square feet?

The toothfairy did the same thing the other day at our house. Luckily, her tooth fairy husband snuck upstairs and remembered. It was a close call!
Yeah...we had the same issue at our house this last week...although the tooth fairy gave too much money for the first one, so when another one fell out...we didn't have anymore change...so it took the tooth fairy a few days to get to it. haha Have a fun reunion!!!
I have started immediately writing a note and putting it by my toothbrush whenever a tooth comes out. I'm notorious for forgetting unless it is written down in plain sight for me to see at bedtime! Have fun this weekend with all your family!
Happened here once too. It was the First top front tooth so it was quite disappointing for the little man. The tooth fairy made up for it! Believe me! Then he went and lost the other front tooth only 30 hours later...so the tooth fairy really had to pay! :)
Yep, happened to us too. We made up some elaborate story about what must have happened to the tooth fairy to make her (or him) not come. I'm not sure if it helped or not that we had just seen the Tooth Fairy movie.
That's awesome Sarah! I'm so excited for you. We are having a smaller one at Snowbird in an even smaller area. 9 adults, 10 kids. Not nearly as many people but still the same chaos! I will be there until the next Friday so lets meet up when your family leaves! Can't wait to hear all about your fam!
I was the tooth fairy for my younger siblings for awhile. I guess I get to do it again in as year or two. :P I'm sure I forgot then and will again.
Sounds like the best kind of chaos!
Oh Sarah....
Please dont be to hard on yourself... we have been there too!

i remember the "chaos" when we all descendedon your home for levi and rebecca's wedding. it was divine!!!
i really miss that kind of chaos...sigh...
enjoy every minute of it.
love to all.
You should make up some crazy tooth fairy emergency. I forgot with Alex once but it was after she already knew so she just came to my room and asked for her money. Nothing magical about that. BTW, I am coming to town this weekend, can I stop by for a bit? JK. Have fun with the fam!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone! Good thing it's suppose to be beautiful weather we can hang outside too!
Yep, the good ole AZ toothfairy has forgotten a time or two herself. For one of my daughters we actually forgot twice. It was humiliating. Who forgets twice in a row? So I know the feeling, and I have the trophy to prove it.
Have fun with your family!
The tooth fairy was unable to make it to our house for Emily's FIRST tooth because there were too many tornados in the middle of the country...and it backed everything up. When she finally did come -FIVE DAYS after the tooth had come out, it was with a written apology and an extra quarter for the wait. Poor Em. She had to wait 2 nights for the second tooth too. And then she was visited by the tooth fairy and her husband in the same night. Not doing so great at it here.
