Ch-ch-ch-ch-Change.
There have been some changes in the Smylie household. As in we sold the Smylie household.
We will be moving to Utah next week. Jake will still be working with his family's business.
We put our house on the market and thought we'd be here until it sold in the spring or summer. We had an offer within three weeks, a buyer who wanted to close in 8 days. So it's been quick. And stressful.
We're heading back to the west. Most things about that are good. Except the heart-wrenching aspect of leaving our family behind in Florida. Two years of living next to Jake's parents (who are like my own) and several sister-in-laws with children the same ages as mine, all living in the same neighborhood. It's going to be a huge change and I get really emotional when the absence of those I've grown so close to sinks in.
Grace embraces it, Ruby is worried about the changes, Lillie doesn't even know her middle name. How will we all handle it? Pretty good, I hope... as good as we always do. We're thinking (I know some of you don't believe us given our record) that we'll stay in Utah for a long, long time, and that encourages and uplifts us. We are both ready to plant our feet.
We have grown immensely these past two years. I have learned so much from the people of Gibsonia ward, my dear friends and people I've met through Lincoln Academy. We've melted into the community here and really experienced the southeast. It's a different world!
So, onto the new. We'll be living 7 minutes from Cafe Rio. You may laugh like it shouldn't matter... it definitely does. My two sisters and my two brothers live there and will be there to greet us. Grace's new school is very close to our house. It's nestled up against the mountain and we have a big fenced backyard with fruit trees and a large space to grow a garden.
Photos to follow!!

It's already weird without you and your girls in Primary/Nursery. I miss you already!
We still don't want you to move, but with the way everything happened so quickly it seems 'meant to be.'
I can't wait to see pictures of the new place. I hope you get settled in quickly. Best Wishes! KIT :)
Ahh, Florida, Utah, it's all the same to me.... we go to both spots and I don't need Leanne to drag me over to your place when we come out to Utah. I'm sure we'll still cross paths and yeah for blogging since we'll still follow all your adventures online. Best of luck with the whole move though - they generally aren't the funnest but it's nice to get settled.
WOOT!
So exciting! Maybe we can see you guys next time we come to Utah! Are you going to Lehi again? I think you embrace change so well Sarah. You are awesome!
sarah - make sure you get in touch somehow and we will make a university reunion - i am sure there is enough people to do it around the town!
Yeah for Smylie's in the west! I want your new address so I can map it! CAN'T WAIT!!!
How exciting. Mvoing is definetly stressul and an adventure. So cool that you're moving somehwere that has family close by once again. Totally jealous of course of how close you are to cafe rio...WHEN we get together I suppose we shall meet there? :)
So I have been following your blog and really enjoying your posts. I am jealous you are pregnant. I am not jealous you are moving to Utah because I hate the snow. However, I am jealous you are moving closer to your family. It was meant to be. We sold our house in CA in 1 week and moved to Las Vegas. Speaking of which if you are every driving through please stop by and say hello.
Yes, yes, yes. You are moving back West. This is great news for me.
Please don't take a break from blogging during the move though;) You are an amazing writer Sarah. Love reading your posts, feeling your thoughts and relishing in it all.
Somehow, strangely it feels like things are exactly as they should be hearing you moving back West of the Mississippi.
We will miss you guys soooo much!!!! Please keep in touch and stay well.
:)

YAY!! Can't wait to have you back!
Welcome back! Where are you going exactly? We're moving in 6 months. Don't know where until March. The Christmas card I sent you came back. I guess I'll just get your new address when you move and try again next year!
Oh I'm just wi wi wi WISHING you were there already so we could have seen you while we Christmased there. I don't know why it warms my heart that you're moving there. Maybe just because it's such a happy nostalgic place for me and I'm a little jealous. And because I understand the added quality of life living by a Cafe Rio would bring. And because it greatly increases my chances of seeing your live face SOME day.
Exciting times are installed for you all in 2010. While sadly you'll be leaving one family, you've got to be excited about returning to your family and familiar surroundings.
Good luck with the move. Can't wait to see the pics of your new house - minus the alligator swamp in the backyard. xo
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! The Great Salt Lake has called. . .
wow! Exciting news! I can't believe you sold your home that quickly. Good news is that i travel to Utah much more often then Floride (seeing that I've never been there). So we will get to have our dinner/lunch meet up with the crew! I've missed seeing you the last few times we've gone. Good luck Sarah. Moving, especially away from family, is never easy.
Cindy says she is excited for you too and that she, Jen and the girls ate Cafe Rio several times when she went to Utah and loved it.
whoo hoo! Where in Utah?
YEAH!!! I don't think there are words to describe how excited Kelly is to live close to Jake again! I'm sure you can imagine :)
Congratulations on the move. I am sure it will be a good thing. A new place to plant those roots...to paint new pictures! I am sure it will be amazing! I feel for you stress-wise!
Good luck!
Ah, so I'm not a westerner and have never heard of this Cafe Rio place so I think I'll just google it and see where you are living (I have friends in Salt Lake and I'm nosey and wondered if you would be living close by). So I felt like a total idiot when I pulled up locations and there are about fifteen gillion....Best of luck with the move!!!
So sad, but so happy for you (and blogs)! Best of luck!
thissoooooooosaaaaaaaaaad
There are a lot of people moving out of the ward right now. When we heard you were moving, I thought about how different the ward would be. Then we found out we were moving too. Things change so fast.
Yeah! I would love it if you could take my family's photo. So let me know when you get settle so we can get together.
Enjoy the trip back.
I don't envy you the moving while pregnant bit.
Can't wait to see you!!
Yeah! Good luck with the move. The last time you moved you were pregnant weren't you? :) It's the worst. Be safe.
I'm sad...
Oh I've been in those shoes a few too many times! I wish you strength, happy thoughts and hope you settle in quick. Your Florida family will miss you, too!
So my daughter's soul twin is moving back to Zion! I am glad that you got to be "away" for a time: you find out that you can really love and be friends with people that you never would have even approached in your old life, right? You find that you can love friends sometimes as much as you love family. . . and you get to bring back to Zion some of that good ole "mission field" zing! (Don't leave that behind).
Welcome home, and let's plan a lunch with you and my sweet Jenni, okay?
Wow, that was quick! Hope your move goes smoothly. Glad we can always keep up on blogs. Take care and good luck!
yay for me! it was meant to be! and nikki is going to meet you and play with us on thursday!
Wow! I probably read this late, but you are moving back to UT?
Cool.
I live about 35 minutes from St. George if you ever get down to the southern end of the state. Where it is MUCH MUCH warmer...;)
Welcome back! UT looks like it missed you.
