Halloween is tomorrow

Ruby: "This one's goin out too all my peeeeople!"
Everything is purely fun until somebody's wand breaks...
I think we're going to have a cold Halloween.
I know there's been some negativity surrounding Halloween this year (I am not quite sure who from??), but we're all dressed up as princesses in Lehi. Our neighbors better be shopping for candy AS WE SPEAK because we're coming to get it tomorrow night. Actually, we had a Family Home Evening last night with a short lesson on how Halloween is all about "giving" (I know, so far from the truth) and we talked about how giving people candy makes us feel happy inside. Their eyes glazed over and I swear they were going to combust because when the lesson was over we were going to... wait for it... ... .... carve a punnkinnn!!!!

Cute pictures. My kids are so excited for halloween. Hannah wants to be Bell because she likes a boy in her class and wants to impress him with her princess dress and make up. Penlope is going to be a dr. just like daddy. I talked hannah into the dr. costume (she will wear it to the trunk or treat) she gets two costumes this year. (I am a sucker) Anyway- I hope you have a great night giving away all your candy!!! lol

Wow, Sarah, your posts cease to amaze me! It's a good thing you don't live in Iowa - they celebrate Halloween for like 2 weeks I swear - then they don't even celebrate it on the real night?!

You have no spine. All that talk about hating halloween and suddenly it's on the FHE docket, your girls are dressed up, you carved a pumpkin. I bet you even bought candy. And decorated. Your porch is decorated, isn't it?

Now, spine aside, I would like to describe myself as someone who has a "bendable heart". Halloween was not a part of my life from 1997-2003. When I was a "grown up". Fast forward to 2007... I still have problems with Halloween that I have voiced. Loudly. But here comes the bendable part: "Mommy, is Halloween today?" "No, honey, it's September 1st." And Rebecca, do you think when Rebecca Jr. is almost 1 and you're walking through Old Navy and you see a chicken costume that you will truly stand your ground? Hm... well maybe you would but I just don't have the spine. Suddenly, Halloween creeps back in my life in the form of a chubby two year old wearing a feather boa. Lots of love, sister, lots of love.

sarah - your kids are so fabulous! and i just read your 'halloween love note' a few blogs down and had to laugh because we too were boo-ed forgot to hang the paper, boo-ed again and never once (or the required twice (or really 4 times)) boo-ed anyone back.

also i like your music - i've been trying to get a player on my site - is it easy?

A cold Halloween... oh I can only imagine. I'm positive I was more than glistening all day long. The leaves in the background... Lehi looks like heaven to me right now...

Your jack-o-lantern kicks my jack-o-lantern's butt. I want to go back and erase mine from my blog now.

I can't wait to dress Rylee as a princess. The girls look beautiful, as usual. Love the Halloween FHE lesson.
