The universe tells me to coupon. At least once a day. I feel the pressure! Someone, once a day, tells me I should coupon. I really don't think I have the brain for it.
Can I hire someone to coupon for me? I think I could pay someone to do that and STILL save money.
Really, this lady at the grocery told me today she had a coupon in her hand for the Raisin Bran I was buying and that she could give it to me. Then she said she felt impressed to give me a few websites to get me started on couponing. Wow, now that's probably the most clear sign I have gotten thus far-- spiritual lady in the store.
Maybe I should pick up on this?
Sometimes I glance down at an ad for a dollar off Huggies diapers. I look at the ad, think about bringing it to the store, then feel fear. Fear that I'll lose it, or forget it at the checkout, it won't be included, and I'll screw it all up... or that I'll read the date wrong and it won't work.
Anyway, I'll probably go to bed tonight not having made any more progress... and then I'll do the same tomorrow.
Sigh, double sigh.

Not to further shove that guilt down your throat, BUT, I never used to use coupons. I actually used to scoff at the idea. But now, since I've started doing it with some consistency, I feel like I am almost stealing, the deals are THAT good. If I'm on top of my game I can save close to $300 per month. I'll give you my secret websites if you desire!
Couponing is SO HARD!!! Lynn and I tried it and I ended up fighting with Gideon in the store then started crying. In Smith's. I also dropped my coupons all over the car and lost the one for a cheap coldstone ice cream. Maybe I'll try again soon. . . maybe not.
I don't coupon. Probably never will. The end.

Don't go down that path, it is a time consuming, low paying job. And I laughed at your fear because any time I bring a coupon I either forget it or lose it in the store and spend more on something I didn't usually buy or need anyway. Put it out of your mind and pitty the fools who do it!
Sarah, we understand each other. I'm with you all the way. I have other things that bring me joy and satisfaction in life...along with a many other silly things that ridiculously overwhelm me-coupons among them.
Ah, that "invisible tribunal in the sky" at it again! Who in the heck says you have to coupon? I know, I know, I had the same guilty conversation with myself when I was your age. And I lost everytime.
So, Sarah, I want to save you the grief. Silence the voices and coupon only if it gives you joy.
Look at the Web site dealstomeals.com. This service is $4.00 a month, and essentially it compares all of the ads for you each week. It then tells you which prices beat Walmart, Costco, Sams, etc. "Red" prices mean that you should buy, buy, buy (and stock up if you're trying to build your food storage). It's MUCH easier than coupons. And, Walmart will price match all of the ads, so you can do all of your shopping in one place.
I've been using this service for three years. I have at least a two year supply of food, and I've saved thousands on my grocery budget.

my friend out here coupons like crazy and I'm not a fan. she gets tons of stuff she doesn't need and then tries to sell it a garage sales for profit. to me, it just seems a little sketchy.... and she doesn't share the wealth but she wants my coupons from my paper. hummm.... how is that good for me? but she did give me 12 coupons for free Pampers wipes the other day. After she'd already cleaned the store out 3 times - she got over 75 packs of wipes free. Just doesn't give me the warm fuzzies....

I have not couponed in about 4 months and could go another 6+ months becasue of the overstock....HOWEVER, you just had a baby so now would not be a good time to start. Give yourself "the year of the baby" as me and my bff's call it. Couponing will still be around after the year.....

So, I tried the couponing thing. I saved a bunch of money...but it was very time consuming and it took hours of my day away from my children. Then, I got pregnant and was too tired and barfy to even think of couponing. So... someday when I'm rich-and-get-to -stop-working-outside-the-home-and have-more-time-and-my-children-are older I'll coupon again. Wait--when I'm rich? Nah... =) But-I LOVE how spiritually inspired people are to tell you about couponing websites. That one made my night!!! =)!!
