Father Time, I Like You, But We Need To Break Up.

Lillie is 2 weeks old today. I glanced at the clock right before I took these photos... 6:55p.m. Almost to the minute, two weeks ago, I met her. I have learned a few things about her since then.

1. She is by nature, a calm and content baby.

2. Pooing is a feat, only to be followed by hours of blissful, peaceful sleep.

3. She's not worried about her baby acne, she knows these things happen.

4. She feigns slight anxiety when surrounded by her loud sisters, only a shadow of what's to come as the youngest in the family.

5. She was born with beautiful lips and they're not going anywhere.

6. She loves me, prefers me, humors her father, and lastly, prefers me.

7. Those disdainful hiccups. She's tough, she muscles through them, but if she had her choice, there would be no such thing.

8. She hardly cries. She squawks a little, grunts a little. Cries even less.

9. She's more sensitive to sound than my other two babies.

10. Doesn't mind when I put my face in her face, touch my lips to hers, kiss her neck, let her latch onto my bottom lip or chin, and just generally get up in her business. She doesn't mind at all.

p.s., she doesn't sleep in this crib, this is the girls' doll crib. i have a thing for babies in small containers.

What? You didn't want the world to think that you put your baby to bed in a doll crib? These pictures are killing me, she's such a doll!

sarie - you would love sheri - i work with her in young womens and she reminds me alot of you - kind, gracious, down to earth...welcoming. maybe one day you'll meet and you can both say, "hey, i know you!"

i can't get over how much lillie is growing and changing already - just one of the cruel twists life throws at us sometimes - i saw her in that doll bed and i was a little confused at first...i thought you had downloaded some random picture of a baby for illustrative purposes. now i almost wish you had. i'm sad that i won't get to see her while she is all newbornish and everything.

we love you all - hugs, kisses and loves all round

Gorgeous photos Sarah. All of them. I didn't even notice she was in a doll crib, too taken by the... gorgeousness. :) Her lips, you aren't kidding. It's the first thing I noticed. And that belly button? It's already so perfect, no pesky stragglers?? I was so afraid to touch it, I feel like my girls had a little scab there for weeks! You are such a wonderful photographer Sarah, which gives you just one more way to enjoy every second of this newborn phase. Keep posting pictures... I can't get enough of her. Is it too soon to be baby hungry?

With poppy being baby girl no.1 I don't have cute stuff like your crib. She's getting about by chasing the boys toys.

I love those beautiful full lips. She sounds like a dream baby. I was wondering where you got such a tiny crib. Actually not a bad idea if you did have her sleep in there as a newborn. My kids always liked sleeping in small places. I still think she is a mix of her sisters. What do you think?

She is so adorable and sweet and cute! I'm so happy she is such a content baby. You really could let her sleep in that doll crib for a few weeks :)

When are you moving back out West Sarah? I really want to be neighbors, especially right now when all I want to do is scoop that baby girl up and kiss her cheeks and watch you take photos of her. She's gorgeous.
