My Favorite Things

Cinnamy rolls.. I can feel the love from here...
Simply Orange Juice.
Chips and Guacamole (Darrell's guac is the best, but you have to have him as a Bro in law).
Steamed asparagus

Chinese food
Cobb Salad, or any other salad...
These popsicles.. chosen for the texture, not for their "sugar freeness".
Roma tomatoes, sliced, drizzled with zesty italian and fresh parmesan.. eaten in groups of ten.

Cafe Rio salad. How much I miss you.
Chips and Salsa. Anywhere, anytime.
Chocky cake. This is something I usually only love when I'm pregnant.

Dried Mangoes. Be careful what you eat these WITH.
These items don't even scratch the surface, but it's a beginning. I think about food A LOT. And it tastes so much better when you're pregnant! Sometimes I lie in bed at night thinking about food, glancing at the clock to double check, "yes, it's definitely too late to go get take-out... and I already ate... hm, yes, it's definitely too late". Having a conversation with myself.. that's always fun. Sometimes a stop at Checker's for their seasoned fries is the 9:30 pick-me-up that I need. Plump and healthy, that's the look I'm going for...

I really am so glad to hear that you are an ENJOYER. It's so depressing to me when women try so hard to "make healthy choices" while their pregnant. I mean really. You're pregnant. If that's not a free-pass than what is? And plump is really the ONLY direction you can possibly go, it's just the level of plumpness we control and once we're 20 to 50 pounds overweight.... isn't it kind of all the same?

Enjoy it you gorgeous mama- enjoy it for those of us who are supposed to be heading in the other direction and keep getting lost. I hate this stage.

when i was pregnant with caitlin my doctor's office was across the street from a wendys - i would stop after every visit for biggie fries and a chocolate frosty - which was all good and well when the visits were every six weeks or so, but havoc reaking on my "bottom line" once the weekly visits began!!!

of course i lived by the notion that there were going to be very few times - 4 in fact - where i could be deliberately "fat and happy", and just eat with wild abandon - believe me...i made the most of it, and then some!!!

ps - i love those mango thingys too!

"Hello my name is Dee and I get pregnant to eat" "Hello Dee" "It all started 5 years ago when I first got pregnant I realized that I didn't have to worry about gaining weight because in 9 months I would loose at least 4kg(8lbs) + fluid. Then breast feeding would take care of the rest of it. In those 5 years I have only increased by 7kg I swear most of that is increased breast mass and I'm still feeding Poppy."

Um, a big fat DITTO from me! I swore this pregnancy I wouldn't let myself gain as much weight as I did the last two times but I'm having problems keeping that promise to myself.

just add nine months to your ingredients and you can serve up a gorgeous, chubby bubby.

You are so my kind of girl. I love food and ditto Lillie's comments about pregnancy being a free-pass. I say we enjoy the inevitable plumpness along the way.

Yeah, who are those bird girls who when you offer them food say, "No thanks, I just ate." I don't get it.

We have so many foods that are alike. But, I've got to say that chips + salsa + guac -- I LOVE it more than a normal person should when I'm pregnant.

Mmmmmmmmmmm that all sounds so good. And we are allowed to indulge baby! That beauty of pregnancy!!

Yes! The Rio salad. There's too ways you can be deprived of it: move away from Utah or be really really poor. I miss going to the Rio with you and the girls. Dang.

I had Cafe Rio twice last week. So good. Okay that was not very nice. I fantasize about food all the time, with or without child.

Don't you look perspective. I have definitely been feeling it lately. I am so grateful for what I have and realize that I am quite blessed!

I love cinnamon rolls! I swear my mission president's wife made the best ones in the world. I say "If it tastes good, just eat it".
