A Picnic in the Back

Time seems to be carried on a freight train and headed top speed out from under and away from me!! I'm never quite caught up... These are my two best friends. Every minute, day, and week, and that's how it's been since March 13, 2003. Just a mom, doin' my thing. We went swimming today and they were VERY upset when we had to leave the pool and come back home. They wailed together, shoulder to shoulder, walking through the doorway, like they were headed to a prison camp. Until I suggested that they sit on the couch with blankies, eat crackers and cheese, drink milk, and watch Goofy cartoons. They were so elated, you'd think they both got accepted to Stanford. I guess I'm really good at suggestions. Life is so great for these two, I wish I could be a little girl again.. and really appeciate the singleness of thought.. such as: "Today I'm going to walk out on the pavement barefoot to see how warm it is and then probably scream in fear if I see an ant. That's all".

I LOVE your pictures... and those precious faces. Motherhood... it's the best right? Crazy sometimes because they really are your best friends, even when they are screaming at you all day, that half a second later when you offer a cookie and they stop all waterworks and give you a kiss is the best. The best.

I love the pictures at the beach and how you call your girls your best friends...i have two best friends too, hopefully they would think the same of me! Classic story of the bank/crying experience, if it makes you feel any better I care about you! have a great day!!

Your girls are beautiful! Seriously - gorgeous girls and you capture some great moments.

I feel the same - sometimes I want to run outside and just worry about who and what I'm going to play with...but it's fun re-living it too!

Have you narrowed down the names yet?

This might just be my very most favorite post on your blog. It captures everything: young life, reliving it again and the joys of motherhood. So great. And your girls are the cutest!

I haven't narrowed down names. I think it will be awhile! Jake has his favorite, but I am going back and forth. Sadie, Charlotte, Odessa, Lola, love them ALL.

Hooray! 20 weeks today! Don't you love it when you can say the 20's instead of the teens. The belly (and wherever else your pregnancy manifests itself... armpits, upper butt, the buldge above the knee) suddenly sounds a lot more justified.

Congrats on 20.

I tell my kids everyday that I want to have their life, of someone waiting on them hand and foot. Changing bums, feeding them getting a treat at the store for being good. But it is sweet when I have them come cuddle and scratch my back for me. AAH it's nice to have kids.
