Good News

Both houses are now under contract! For those who didn't know, we were selling the home we live in as well as the spec home. We are so relieved to have them both under contract! Nothing is completely certain until we sign the closing documents, but it's nice to be closer than ever and we're welcoming any back-up offers. We are set to close on the home we live in on January 15th. So we will move on or before then. We don't really know where, probably an apartment until we can get things figured out... like where we want to live, etc.

This life of ours is crazy.

Jake passed his series 7 (Stock broker) test on Friday, and we're really happy about that... now he has to study for his series 63 (State Broker test). He should be taking that in the next 6 weeks.
Well, that's all the news for now. As a sidenote, we are freezing our behinds off in Utah. Inversion has come and hasn't gone away. Inversion is when the air is super cold and hangs in the valley and is exacerbated by the moisture from the lake... basically, really cold, unhealthy air for weeks on end. No snow, no wind, no rain, just cold. It's a party I tell you.

Wow. That is all VERY good news. Sounds like you are having a great month. I'm so glad things are working out for you guys. Do you think you'll stay in Utah or are you planning to maybe move out of state?
Your weather right now sounds like what we go through in Iowa for 5 months out of the year. However, it is EXTREMELY windy. Hope it gets better for you guys soon!

Kasey, I don't know where we're going to go for sure.. Jake's job is ok, but at this point, anywhere is an option. We could move to Florida, or Arizona, where Jake's friend wants to start a pest control company and wants Jake's help. Or we could stay here and try to climb up the ranks at E-Trade. I love my life.:)

Congratulations on both houses! Selfishly I want you to stay, but am happy that you guys are doing what you need to.

And c'mon! How could you NOT love the inversion?? "On windless winter days, warm air above sometimes traps colder air down in the valley, causing a temperature inversion. When that happens, city smog has nowhere to go, and the resulting haze of foul-smelling pollution is so thick, driving through it you'd think it was fog." You know it's Christmas in Utah when there's no snow on the ground - but you're freezing anyway - and you step outside and inhale nothing but car exhaust...

You should come south! Cheaper, warmer, and closer to the beach! Of course, if it is not close to family than that's not good. Congrats on the contracts!!!!! The Lord has a plan.
